I am trying to set up a network panel inside so that it is very easy in the future to just plug in new additions if I expand my system. Let me start by saying that my internet is working and I am happy about that. The left cable is the one that is acting like a bridge and to the right is the jack with the main cable connected to it. I am including a picture to help visualize this setup. I don't understand how the second jack had any affect on the system but I am hoping there is someone on this forum who knows something I don't about this. It is a brand new RCA branded jack and I have tried two corded telephones and neither one worked after the removal of the second jack when plugged into the one I replaced. I do no get any dial tone from that jack. I did not bother testing it after that and I believe the removal of the second jack that lacks an RJ11 port as well as disconnecting the second cable is what ruined the setup. When I changed the jack that the main cable connects to everything still worked fine but then I decided to remove the other jack and disconnect the second cable. I thought it was a setup for two jacks but it seemed weird since the second cable doesn't go anywhere but from one jack to another acting like a bridge. The weird part is that from that jack there is another cable which runs to another jack that is missing the RJ11 port. That is the normal part I could identify. There is a telephone cable that comes out through a hole in the floor in the corner of the room and runs along baseboard to the jack. I think I know why but it is very strange to me but maybe familiar to others. I recently changed some telephone jacks in my home and one of them is no longer working after I changed it. I have been a DIY for quite a long time and found this website recently and decided being a member of this website would definitely be a progressive decision.
